Long term sponsors raise $1500 for Further Studies Scholarship!

We are very proud to announce that Geoff and Kaye Bales are our longest regular sponsors at The Reading Seed. They have been regularly donating since January 2014, shortly after The Reading Seed commenced operation in 2013.

This month marks their 30th donation and shows funds raised for The Reading Seed reach $1500.

Each month Geoff and Kaye contribute a small amount to the Further Studies Scholarship. They donate an amount they are comfortable with which is enough to make a huge impact!

When Geoff and Kaye began sponsoring this project, Thobile was a student who had chosen to study Engineering at University. She was sponsored for a year and then unfortunately decided to leave the Village.

Our current recipient of The Further Studies Scholarship is Siphokazi, who will finish her beautician course at the end of this year, after 2 years of training. Siphokazi has been ever so grateful for the help that The Reading Seed, primarily Geoff and Kaye, has given her and she has grown into a more confident, positive member of society, it is amazing how achieving can turn one’s life around,  and through education Siphokazi has done just this. Siphokazi finishes her course completing a business unit and will then sit exams to gain an international accreditation for her career.

This is a very positive story for a child who had no direction and was always behind throughout school. She has now found something she can succeed in and is ‘blooming’. This could not have been made possible without the help from Geoff and Kaye and from Siphokazi and all the team at The Reading Seed we wish to THANK them greatly for all the selfless contributions!

If you feel like you could spare $10, $20 or more once a month PLEASE use it to help someone else! We are currently looking for regular sponsors for our School Support Project and our Remedial Teaching Project. Remember a little can go a long way!!
