Murdoch University and The Reading Seed working together to maximise potential
The Reading Seed has been recently working with a group of final year Public Relations students from Murdoch University in Western Australia. 360 Public Relations, Queenie Ching, Rachel Siu and Marilda Silva, partnered with The Reading Seed to deliver a campaign management report as a part of their final year of study. For the students, this was an opportunity to work with a real company and think practically about how they could apply their knowledge and skills to help an Australian Not for Profit organisation deliver their objectives.
Michael & Rebecca Lush, from The Reading Seed, recently attended the ‘Alinea Conference’, where the Murdoch students presented their great ideas. The Reading Seed team was impressed by how they were able to connect with the vision and purpose of the charity and how the students had a passion for the work and a drive to help provide children access to education to learn and grow.
The ideas with a fundraising and sponsorship focus have been shared with The Reading Seed team to consider as a part of future planning activities. These include fundraising event ideas, linking in with local universities; utilising online technology to reach new members, help build a sustainable membership base and explore opportunities for volunteer participation.
Thank you for the team, your enthusiasm was appreciated and we hope we have planted the ‘seed’ with you to keep our story growing.
