Azlinda is one of the seven recipients of the School Support Project in Langkawi, Malaysia. The Reading Seed will be supporting Azlinda through The Charity Club Langkawi as she has been fortunate enough to achieve excellent results in her end of year primary school exams and has now been accepted into a school on the mainland. The school is called Sekolah Berasrama Penh Integrasi Kubang Pasu (quite a mouthful) in Perlis on the mainland of Malaysia. As stated by The Charity Club Langkawi, this school is one of 69 fully residential government schools in Malaysia committed to nature academic and extra curricular success for the fortunate students who are awarded a place.
As Tony Hughes, our connection between The Charity Club Langkawi and The Reading Seed commented, “Azlinda is one of many motivated children from disadvantaged backgrounds who, without the intervention of The Charity Club, would not achieve her potential and miss out on educational opportunities. We are proud of Azlinda’s attitude and application and thankful for The Reading Seed’s role in helping enable the Charity Club’s program.”
Originally Azlinda’s single mother turned down the opportunity for Azlinda to further her studies due to cost but with our support we can help this family.
The Reading Seed will be helping her with transport to school (from her house on the island of Langkawi), fees and other essential elements to help her gain access to a better education. She has worked hard to get herself to this point and we are really looking forward to sharing her journey with her and you also so look out for more updates soon.
